Ingredients
1 lb Whitaker Farms (All-Natural)  sausage
1 lb Whitaker Farms (All-Natural) ground beef
1 TBSP Italian seasoning
4 TBSP shredded or grated Parmesan cheese
Salt & black pepper to taste
Slider burger buns

Other: lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, cheese, any other favored burger toppings, and condiments.

Optional topping and condiment:
2 ounces butter
1 cup yellow onions, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon white pepper
1 teaspoon kosher salt
In a saute pan over high heat, add the butter, onions, white pepper and salt, and cook over high heat until the butter has melted. Reduce the heat to medium and finish cooking the onions until slightly browned on the edges, 7 to 8 minutes. Set aside.

Condiment:

1/4 cup equal parts mayonnaise and mustard
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 cup thinly shredded romaine hearts
Combine the mayonnaise-mustard mixture with the lemon juice and shredded romaine. Top the bottom bun with the dressed lettuce, a burger, some caramelized onions, and cheese of choice. Add the top bun and serve.

Directions
In a mixing bowl combine Whitaker Farms pork sausage and ground beef.  Mix the two meats with the Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese until well blended.  Do not over mix or the burger will be too tightly bound. Portion the meat into 12 (2-ounce) balls, then flatten the balls into patties about 2 1/2 inches round.

Cook patties in skillet over medium-high heat until cooked to your liking (the same when you cook using grill or oven).

Remove cooked patties from skillet and let rest for a few minutes on a plate covered with foil. This will keep the patties juicy and warm.

Build burgers using slider patties and your favorite condiments.
Notes
The addition of Parmesan cheese adds a great flavor to this burger, but any grated cheese could be added instead as well as crumbled blue cheese or goat cheese.

This burger would be great using Cajun seasoning or any of your favorite spices, instead of the Italian seasoning.    ENJOY
